BUDDY HOLLY WINTER DANCE PARTY

The story of the ill-fated Winter Dance Party is part of American folklore. On February 2, 1959, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and JP Richardson (the Big Bopper) performed at The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. The plane crash that occurred hours later changed music history forever.  Holly, Valens and Richardson were killed in the crash.  They had been on a flight to Moorhead, MN.  Young Dion DiMucci was broken-hearted.  The nineteen-year-old had lost some dear friends, but the scheduled performance in Moorhead wasn't canceled.  Dion took the stage in Minnesota along with a new, unknown artist, fifteen-year-old Bobby Vee of Fargo, ND.  A call had gone out on radio stations in the Fargo/Moorhead area looking for local talent replace the deceased superstars.  Vee answered the call, and as they say, the rest is history.

Your ticket is also a reservation for a seat at the table you chose at the time of purchase. You will be seated at the same table for both dinner and the concert. When you purchase the ticket you are choosing your seat and table. For this reason, if you have a larger group, please buy tickets at the same time. We cannot change your seat after the purchase to sit with other people.  Most tables seat 4 and a few seat 8. If it is a busy night you may be seated with others at the same table. Any changes or transfers of tickets to others have to be made using the online account. Restaurant staff does not have access to this. Tickets are transferable but non refundable (unless the show is cancelled, in which case you will be refunded automatically).

Seating times are 5:30pm, 6:00pm, and 6:30pm, and you will have plenty of time to order dinner and drinks before and during the show. If you come earlier than 5:30pm, you can grab a drink in the bar, outside the concert / dinning room. Music from 7pm until around 9pm.

The ticket cost goes exclusively to the musicians and music producers, not the restaurant, and it does not include food or beverage. Please do not bring any outside food, desserts, or beverages. Tickets are non refundable unless the show is cancelled, but transferable using the online account.

Though not a lot, there usually is room for dancing. Please be considerate of sight lines if you choose to dance.
